I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever
Psalm 23:6

Every once in a while our lives are touched forever by the unexpected presence of another person.  At Christian Veterinary Missions we found such a person in Erica Geary. Erica’s beautiful smile and her love for life, people, animals, and her dear Lord left a deep and lasting impression on us all.

Erica grew up and was home-schooled in Damascus, Maryland, and came to faith in Jesus as her Savior at an early age. She graduated from Grove City College in 2010 with a degree in Molecular Biology, then went on to achieve her goal of receiving a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia in 2014. Erica loved her work as a doctor at the Ridge Animal Hospital in Farmville, Virginia.

Erica had the privilege of participating in many mission trips to far-flung places such as Haiti, Nicaragua and, most recently, to Mongolia, where she planned to return as a full-time veterinary missionary. During her short-term mission trip to Mongolia to work with V.E.T. Net, Erica touched the hearts of both the Mongolian nationals and the international staff.

Erica died tragically in an automobile accident in Virginia on Good Friday, April 3, 2015.  Although we were saddened by the news of her death and by the thoughts of a youthful life cut short, we rejoice in the assurance that she will share eternity with our Lord and Savior.
